I need your help with the purchase of an insurance policy. I'm going to the USA with my wife with J1, J2 visas (I'll take an internship program at UIUC, ILL for 1 year) on and of may, 2024. Accordingly, I'm going to buy insurance for myself and for her. At the moment, my choice fell on the Patriot Exchange Program. I would like to understand if this type of insurance covers cases related to pregnancy, maternity and newborn care?If this type of insurance does not cover these cases, then what kind of insurance for my wife would you recommend?
This plan does not offer coverage for pregnancy or maternity related expenses. There are some plans available to J visa holders that can offer coverage for Maternity expenses if the insured is not yet pregnant.
Study USA Platinum offers the most coverage for maternity expenses and will pay 80% of related expenses to $20,000.
Unfortunately, if the insured is already pregnant there are no plans that will offer any coverage for those maternity related expenses.
